I’m Brooke, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate providing therapy to adults and teens under the supervision of Amy Salinas, LPC-S.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 10 years working in corporate marketing for agencies, engineering companies, and even funeral homes. My background in marketing taught me the importance of connection and creating spaces where people feel seen and understood.
I started therapy as a client and found that not only were the skills and resources I was using effective, but the psychology behind them was fascinating. So, in 2025, I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Since then, it has been my passion to create a therapy space that feels welcoming and reflective of who I am as a person.
Colorful Couch Counseling is a metaphor for bringing all types of people into the therapy space while helping destigmatize the traditional therapy experience that can sometimes feel intimidating or scary. My hope is that sessions feel less like opening up to a stranger and more like having a conversation with a safe soul who is there to support you through life’s challenges.
With me, there’s room and acceptance for every story. Wherever you are in your mental health journey, it would be an honor to walk alongside you.
it’s me, hi.
my approach
Just like a good pair of shoes, I don’t believe therapy is one-size-fits-all. I personalize every counseling session by using evidence-based therapy modalities that fit your goals, personality, and mental health needs.
My approach includes, but is not limited to:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Person-Centered Therapy
Family Systems Therapy
It’s also important to me that you feel supported between sessions. That is why I offer optional resources and homework based on my clients’ goals. While this may seem daunting, I aim to make them realistic for your lifestyle and interests. Because no one wants to make time for something they don’t want to do.
Lastly, I know I’m not for everyone, and that’s okay! If you see me and think you might fit better with a different therapist or need more specialized care, I encourage my clients to tell me. The most important thing is that you get the help you’re looking for. I’m happy to try to connect you with another mental health professional who better suits what you’re looking for.
human me
As crazy as it might seem, I do have a life outside of being a therapist. In an effort to create a space that feels authentic and safe, I think it’s important that you know a little bit about that side of me.
When I’m not in sessions, you can find me spending time with my husband or playing with my cats. In fact, you might meet my cats as they love to appear during sessions (don’t worry, they are HIPAA compliant).
There are a variety of hobbies I enjoy, but here is a snapshot of a few:
I love gardening and often set goals of creating meals with the ingredients we grow.
I’m an avid gym-goer and have training in marathon running, CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting, and my personal favorite, Peloton biking.
On the contrary, I’m a huge foodie who is always looking to try new restaurants and satisfy my sweet tooth.
If you can’t find me, I’m probably at the beach. The waves and sunshine are my personal ecotherapy.
Lastly, and most importantly, I’m a passionate Swiftie. If you’re looking for someone to talk about Taylor’s most recent album or hidden Easter eggs, I’m your girl.
My hope is that sharing a little bit about myself helps therapy feel less like opening up to a stranger and more like connecting with a real person who is here to support you.
